Each year consumers are inundated with new iron sets and it can get extremely confusing as to what set will work best for what type of golfer you are. Mizuno has taken a unique approach into the idea by having a larger amount of options to fit just about any player out there, but one type of golfer always seemed to be left out of the bunch in our opinion, from the Mizuno line of irons and that was the golfer looking for maximum forgiveness without sacrificing a lot of the feel and performance that Mizuno irons are synonymous with.
For starters, Mizuno is calling the MX-1000 irons the longest, straightest iron they've ever created. What makes the MX-1000 so much longer than previous irons? There are actually multiple design features contributing to such a claim. First, thanks to their Hot Metal Technology, Mizuno pushed COR to its legal limit.
MOI is optimized by the use of Hollow Technology, which allows the internal weighting to be pushed away from center, allowing the player to get away with less than perfect contact. The Hollow Technology also allows for the center of gravity to be pushed low and deep, making it easier to launch the ball high and straight. To help reduce excessive digging, and increase playability from all lies, a wide beveled sole design with a rolled leading edge and aggressively beveled trailing edge was used.

Regardless, I'm also a firm believer that the look of the cavity doesn't matter all that much, as you don't see it at address. While the topline of the Mizuno MX-1000 may be a little thicker than the rest of Mizuno's irons, it certainly doesn't look to be distractingly thick at all, and should set up quite nicely.
The ball flight is extremely high, but it was not one in which the ball falls out of the sky and loses distance because of it. The MX-1000 is available for both right and left handed players, and can be full customized by Mizuno's Custom Department.

This club is definitely a shade longer than the original. I believe there are several factors responsible for this. While the original sported the same hot "X-Face" technology that Callaway has been refining for several years, this newer model, similar to the new FT-iZ Model, also features said an X-Face technology that has been "Chemically Milled." This process is similar to the old "Acid Dipping" process we used to use to remove dead weight from the heavy gauge steel bodies of our old hot rods when we were kids. Similarly to the old GTO's and Plymouth Belvedere's of our generation, this newer "Chemically Milled Face" has had the dynamic spots made larger, and the deader spots made much smaller. Though all drivers max out at .830 COR by USGA Regulations, the entire face does feel more consistent. Hit one of these anywhere near the sweet spot--and that ball is going to fly.
To help improve feel and performance, Callaway have introduced their S2H2 technology which shortens the hosel and allows the tip of the shaft to move down towards the sole of the club. This also repositions the weight in the perimeter of the golf club for more stability. Having the shaft tip nearer the center of the clubface on the Callaway Diablo Edge Driver will give you superior feel and control over your drives.
All in all, there's no doubt that Callaway knows how to make a driver that people can just plain hit. Our experience tells us that the Diablo Edge is yet another club that does its fiendish best to carry on that legacy.

I've been trying to find the right driver for the last several months as many on here have. I was able to get a good deal on this Diablo Edge 9 deg. stiff shaft. It is accurate, forgiving and long. This driver has ended the search.
Took two rounds to find the sweet spot but I found it today. Lowest round for a while a 78. the reason is because I was long and in the short grass. Hitting to the dance floor was much easier. The diablo driver along with the newly purchased ghost putter turned my game around. Both clubs, at address, gives you a lot of confidence that you can pull the shot off. Today I did. Can't wait till the next time out. The Diablo added 25 to 30 more yards, down the middle, awesome!
Diablo Edge, is the most amazing Driver I have ever seen, I drive the ball about 340-360 (no kidding) most of them I don't even have to full swing, its incredible. the first few days I was upset cause it seems like I wasn't good, but my old driver was heavier, so I had to adjust my style a bit, and now, WOW, straighter, higher, longer. Sometime I miss the sweet spot and still get over 300. I recommended, the price is worth it, and is sweet, nice looking and perfect feeling.
I had my first driver fitting and this was the driver that fit me best. Best purchase I've ever made to improve my driving.
